Drama

Our long tradition of drama and performance is such an important part of life in our school. Children in all year groups and of all abilities have opportunities to express themselves through performance. Drama is used regularly to deliver various aspects of the curriculum and transfers so easily to every subject area.

Every year group delivers an assembly to the whole school and their families at some point in the school year. This allows the school community to get an insight into the exciting learning going on in each year group as well as giving children the experience of preparing and delivering a performance.

The year 3 children work hard to deliver a fantastic Nativity production in our local First Bangor Presbyterian Church. Every child is included and each plays a vital role in the performance. Our school Nativity is a highlight in the festive calendar for the whole of the BCIPS community.

In 2019 we were awarded The Carson Award for our drama "Weathering the Storm". This performance was commissioned to celebrate our 20th anniversary of transforming to an integrated school.

One of the highlights of our school year is the much anticipated Year 7 production. Every year the year 7's work incredibly hard to prepare a showcase performance. The entire year group are involved in either the performance itself, backstage crew or making props and costumes. This show plays such an important role in the final year of our children's primary school career. It enables the children to recognise and celebrate their amazing successes and achievements of their time at BCIPS.
