For our final week of home school we are having a grammar check up. Before you complete the test in your booklet, here are some clips and activities to help you revise some of the key concepts we have learnt on Year 5.

WRITING

This is our final week of home learning and what an unusual time it has been! This week we would like you to write a letter to your future self about your home school experience.

Read the extract from Howard Carter's account of finding Tutankhamun's tomb (in your Literacy Booklet) 

Imagine you were with him at the time. Recount the events of that day in the form of a diary entry.

Try and make it interesting to read by building suspense and mystery!

This week let's look at...

• using a thesaurus to find synonyms and antonyms
• using apostrophes for possession

Over the next fortnight we will be revising how to write a recount.
