P.E

Physical Education and sport play a significant role in the pupil's development here in Bangor Central Integrated Primary School. From the start of school, children are taught the fundamental movement skills, which are the basis for all other physical activity. Children need to develop their confidence and self-esteem, their concentration and perseverance as well as gross and fine motor skills.

The elements of P.E. that are taught are:

  • Agility, Balance and Co-ordination
  • Running, Sprinting and Athletics
  • Skipping, Jump for distance
  • Throwing and Catching
  • Circuits

Each class has two P.E. sessions a week taught by their class teacher and a P.E. specialist, Mr Waldron. From Year 4, pupils attend Bangor Aurora for swimming lessons.

At the end of the year, each Key Stage takes part in a Sports Skills Day which celebrates the participation of all the pupils and showcases the skills that were taught throughout the year.
