Road Safety Week- Safe Roads For All

This year the Brakes theme for Road Safety is- Safe Roads For All.

Each class was given a road safety calendar and a range of resources and activites to discuss, design and create. Many of our Year 7 children designed amazing posters to highlight the unsafe parking outside our school grounds. Some Year 7 children wrote letters to our local MPs, traffic wardens and community police officers.

Many of our year groups went on a school trip or an outing, including a visit to the library and walking to Aurora for swiiming lessons. Both trips involved crossing roads.

Each day was given a theme:

Monday MOVE - Walk, ride or scoot to school or work
Tuesday TEACH - Who can you teach about road safety?
Wednesday WATCH - Remind drivers to watch their speed and watch out for others
Thursday THINK - Think about how we keep different road users safe
Friday FUTURE - Can you imagine a day when no one is killed or hurt on roads?
Saturday SAVE - Crash not accident! Changing our language will help save lives
Sunday SUPPORT - Remembering people killed or seriously injured on UK roads
