• Mrs Heaney retires after 35 years of teaching

  On Friday 29th March, we celebrated the many years of teaching that Mrs Heaney has given to Bangor Central. Mrs Heaney has been an inspirational teacher for so many years and will be sadly missed by all the staff, pupils past and present and by the parents. We thank her for the lovely gifts of three plants that she has given to the school, and when they plants grow we will think fondly of Mrs Heaney.

  Today, we embraced World Book Day, with characters from Nursery Rhymes, Traditional Tales and other favourite books.

  

• Sporting Achievements

  At Bangor Central, we are so proud of our pupils and their sporting achievements. Recently, our Sports hall Athletics team completed a 'clean sweep' with both the boys' and girls' teams winning, meaning an overall team victory in the South Eastern Area event.

  Our Netball team also continue to have sporting success. Our A Team and B Team came first and third respectively in the Sullivan Netball Tournament today, even playing each other in a tense semi-final! We are so proud of the squad for being such fantastic representatives for our school. We are also very grateful for the hard work and dedication of the adults involved.

  Tuesday 5th February is Internet Safety Day. In each class, teachers and pupils will be discussing how they use the internet and how to stay safe online. There is a useful guide to parents on how to monitor the use of online resources and how to keep children safe while using the internet.

  Today, all our pupils, were entertained by the MandM production team, who performed Peter Pan in our assembly hall. As always the performance was brilliant and all the pupils enjoyed the show.
