Today Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall made a surprise visit to our school on their way to Bangor Market. As part of their two day visit to Northern Ireland, the Royal couple were welcomed by all the pupils waving flags. Our school council representatives had a meet and greet with the Prince and Duchess as they strolled around the Wednesday Market. All the children saw the royal escort and police motorbikes travel through our school grounds. It was a very historic and exciting day for all the staff and pupils as well as the many visitors in the market.
We would like to congrat Alex Rush, a Year 1 pupil, who has taken part in the Sustrans Big Pedal over the last two weeks. This young boy has walked to school every day for two weeks and has walked 20 miles in total. He has taken this action to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK.. Today marked the final day and as a special surprise Alex arrived to school in a T Rex costume along with his mum, Sarah. Mr Campbell was in the playground to greet the dinosaurs and they told him that Alex has raised £430 for charity. As a school, we are so proud of this achievement and want to thank everyone who walked, cycled or scooted to our school.
